Made possible by local donations to the SEEC Prosperity Fund, SEECs Curb Appeal Program is focused on exterior design and building improvements along the Main Streets throughout Schoharie County. SEEC is offering incentives to commercial and mixed-use property owners or business tenants. Applicants must be willing to invest in positive visual and sustainable improvements that complement the desired character of commercial and historic districts.

In 2024, SEEC placed a strong focus on Schoharie County’s eight historic districts and Main Street beautification. Nearly 20 commercial property owners and tenants applied for co-investment support through the Curb Appeal Program. To guide the process, SEEC formed a dedicated Review Committee and brought in professional design consultants to help applicants unlock the full potential of their buildings. As a result, 13 projects across seven communities were recommended for funding to complete historically appropriate exterior improvements.

Construction for 2025 awarded projects began in summer 2025, with completion targeted for December 2025.
