Come See SEEC at the Inaugural Cobleskill Art In Action Festival & Auction
Cobleskill, NY — SEEC's 287 Main Gallery will have a table at the inaugural Cobleskill Art In Action Festival & Auction, taking place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Veterans Memorial Centre Park and Main Street Sidewalks in Cobleskill, NY. Stop by, get creative with us, and help make something together!
SEEC Executive Assistant Andrea has been part of the team helping bring this exciting new event to life, and we're proud to be a part of this landmark addition to the regional festival lineup.
Visitors are invited to participate in our Artist Jamboree activity — a free, hands-on art experience open to all ages. Each participant will draw a random community-themed prompt and bring it to life through drawing or painting. Every finished piece, labeled with its prompt on the back, will be combined with others to form one collective canvas. The final artwork will be displayed on the 287 Main gallery wall as a vibrant reflection of the many voices, ideas, and perspectives that shape our community.
The activity will run during two time slots: 9:00–11:00 AM and 1:30–3:30 PM, accommodating approximately five participants at a time. It's free and no experience is necessary.
The Art In Action Festival itself is unlike any traditional art market. Visitors will experience art as a dynamic, live performance, interacting directly with creators as they design, paint, sculpt, and build right before their eyes. The festival brings together an exceptional field of talent from across Upstate New York, the NY Metro area, and the nation — including artists traveling from as far as Maryland and Utah. Featured artists include celebrated regional masters Jonathan Stasko, John Wilkinson, and George Dirolf, alongside world-renowned photographer Dmitri Kasterine.
The festival is organized into three tracks of creativity:
The Quick Draw Exposition & Live Auction: Fifteen juried artists will have exactly 90 minutes (10:00 AM – 11:30 AM) to create a complete masterpiece from a blank surface. At noon, those fresh pieces go straight to a high-energy live public auction — giving attendees the chance to take home a brand-new original work of art.
Interactive Art & Family Demonstrations: Free, hands-on activities all day — including pottery painting and water-gun art — for all ages.
Artist Vendor Market: Over 40 creators demonstrating their skills live at their booths while showcasing handcrafted goods.
Optional $50 VIP tickets are available for reserved auction seating and an exclusive pre-auction reception at the historic Bull's Head Inn.
While admission is entirely free, organizers encourage attendees to pre-register at CobleskillPartnership.com. Every person who registers in advance will be entered into the RSVP Raffle, with hundreds of dollars in prizes donated by over a dozen local Cobleskill merchants.
In the event of rain, the festival will move to the SUNY Cobleskill campus.
