Nationally Recognized Digital Agency Founder to Lead Free AI Workshop
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SEEC's Digital Enlighten Series continues to support rural business with expert advice
SCHOHARIE, N.Y. | July 2026 — As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms the way businesses market, communicate, and operate, many rural entrepreneurs are asking the same question: Where do I begin? The Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corporation (SEEC) is answering that question by bringing one of New York's foremost digital innovators to Schoharie County for a free workshop designed specifically for small businesses.
The Digital Enlighten Series Workshop #3: AI for Small Businesses will take place on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. as a hybrid event, allowing participants to attend in person at SEEC's economic development hub, 287 Main Street, Schoharie, or virtually.
The workshop is the third installment of SEEC's five-part Digital Enlighten Series, a free educational initiative created through the organization's Digital Revolution, one of SEEC's three strategic priorities alongside Main Street Vitality and Industry Diversity. The series was developed to ensure rural businesses, entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders have access to the digital knowledge and emerging technologies shaping today's economy.
"Artificial intelligence is becoming as fundamental to doing business as email and the internet once were," said Afolabi Salami, Senior Program Administrator at SEEC. " "Our goal is to make sure rural businesses have the knowledge and practical tools they need to take advantage of this technology. This series is focused on helping local entrepreneurs work more efficiently, reach more customers, and remain competitive in an increasingly digital economy.
Leading the session is Dan Dinsmore, founder and CEO of Overit, an Albany-based, nationally recognized creative agency with more than three decades of experience helping organizations navigate digital transformation. Since founding the agency in 1993, Dinsmore has grown Overit into an award-winning firm serving clients across healthcare, manufacturing, higher education, tourism, government, and consumer industries. Under his leadership, the agency has earned hundreds of industry honors—including numerous American Advertising Awards (ADDYs)—and has become a recognized leader in integrating artificial intelligence into modern business strategy.
Designed specifically for small businesses and organizations with little or no AI experience, the one-hour workshop will focus on practical, immediately applicable tools rather than technical theory.
Participants will learn how to:
Save valuable time by automating repetitive administrative tasks.
Create marketing content, social media posts, emails, and promotional materials in minutes.
Improve customer communication and responsiveness using AI-powered tools.
Organize notes, summarize meetings, and streamline daily workflows.
Write effective prompts that produce useful, reliable results.
Understand where AI can add value—and where human expertise remains essential.
"AI isn't replacing entrepreneurs—it's giving them another tool in the toolbox," Dinsmore said. "The businesses that learn how to use these technologies thoughtfully will have a tremendous advantage. My goal is to make AI approachable, practical, and immediately useful for the people who need it most."
