📚 5 Minutes with Afolabi 📚

Q: What attracted you to Upstate New York?

A: "I’m impressed by the region’s natural beauty, calm atmosphere, and strong sense of community. Schoharie County, in particular, stands out for its welcoming, accomplished, and inspiring people."

Q: What inspired you to join SEEC?

A: "Joining SEEC lets me align my passion for community impact with an organization tackling real challenges locally. I’m excited to support SEEC’s mission to build a stronger, more inclusive economy through collaborative, community-rooted solutions."

Q: Which project are you most excited to work on?

A: "I’m especially excited to lead the Digital Inclusion initiative, aimed at closing the digital divide in Schoharie County. Reliable broadband is essential for education, employment, healthcare, and economic growth. Addressing digital gaps isn’t just about connectivity—it’s about opening opportunities for learning, jobs, telehealth, and entrepreneurship. I’m proud to bring my experience in rural economic development and research on small businesses and digital inequality to this role."
