Rooted in Purpose. Grown in Legacy. was a success!

On Tuesday, September 30, SEEC hosted its Open House, “Rooted in Purpose. Grown in Legacy.”, at 287 Main in Schoharie. The event brought together residents, municipal leaders, business owners, and investors to explore SEEC’s pillars of economic development: Digital Revolution, Industrial Diversity, and Main Street Vitality.

Attendees rotated through each station in a fast-paced format, enjoying Chatty Wren and Charlottesville General Store coffee, local pastries, and networking while gaining firsthand insight into SEEC’s strategies to enhance connectivity, foster local enterprise, and strengthen community character.

During the morning session, Trish Bergan, SEEC’s Program Administrator, led the Main Street Vitality station focused on downtown revitalization, historic building projects, and placemaking efforts. Simultaneously, Afolabi Salami, Senior Program Administrator, guided attendees through the Digital Revolution track, detailing SEEC’s work in broadband expansion, business digital literacy, and small business support.

Executive Director Julie Pacatte reiterated that SEEC’s efforts are grounded in placemaking, leveraging local assets, and fostering resiliency — part of the organization’s core values. “This open house is more than just a look inside our building — it’s a window into what’s possible for Schoharie County,” said Julie Pacatte, Executive Director of SEEC. “From closing the digital divide to revitalizing Main Streets, we’re helping align community vision with economic investment. Whether you’re a resident, entrepreneur, or investor, this event is your opportunity to get involved.”

Since 2019, SEEC has helped catalyze more than $56 million in public-private investment across Schoharie County — and its pipeline of projects continues to grow to ¼ billion.
