SEEC Releases 2025 Annual Report, Highlighting $335 Million in Active Public-Private Investment
"Collective Impact" theme reflects a community moving as one toward rural renaissance
SCHOHARIE, NY — Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corporation (SEEC) has released its 2025 Annual Report, documenting a landmark year of economic growth, infrastructure investment, and community collaboration across Schoharie County. The report, themed Collective Impact, reflects SEEC's sixth year as a public-benefit organization and captures the accumulation of partnerships, investments, and initiatives shaping the region's future.
"No single investment, grant, or initiative tells the full story of what is happening in Schoharie County," wrote Thomas O. Putnam, SEEC Board Chair, in the report's opening message. "Instead, the story of a rural renaissance is told by the accumulation of partners leaning in, local businesses stepping up, and residents walking into a hard-hat preview of The Parrott House and recognizing that something real is being built."
2025 Impact at a Glance
In 2025, SEEC's work advanced across three strategic pillars — Digital Revolution, Main Street Vitality, and Industry Diversity — generating measurable results across the county:
$335 million in active public-private partnerships currently in the pipeline
323.5 miles of fiber optic cable under construction, projected to connect nearly 4,000 premises and position Schoharie County in the top 3% of counties nationwide for high-speed internet access
$36 million in public investment secured for affordable high-speed internet
$34 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative awarded to the Village of Schoharie
$59 million world-class Hoshino Resort anchor project approved in the Village of Sharon Springs
$2.5 million in SEEC Impact and Prosperity Fund direct investments
$75 million Amazon last-mile logistics development, creating 325 next-generation job opportunities
$2.8 million FAST NY infrastructure upgrade secured for the Town of Schoharie
In 2024, SEEC helped secure a $30 million NYS Municipal Infrastructure Program grant to bring last-mile broadband to Schoharie County. Construction began in late 2025, led by FARR Technologies and MIDTEL, with completion projected for 2027. Free public Wi-Fi is now active in the Villages of Schoharie and Middleburgh, serving 2,610 village residents, with Sharon Springs coming soon.
One of the year's signature milestones was the progress of The Parrott House, a historic 1870 Main Street property in the Village of Schoharie being restored through a $2.5 million reinvestment funded in part by SEEC's Impact Fund. More than 200 neighbors gathered inside the active renovation in December 2025 for SEEC's Toast to the Town: Behind the Build, a hard-hat preview of the boutique hotel, steakhouse, coffee bar, and event space anticipated to open in 2026, creating approximately 17 local jobs.
As SEEC moves into year six, the organization is focused on reaching its $5 million fundraising goal by 2030 and building the organizational backbone to sustain long-term Collective Impact across Schoharie County. The 2025 Annual Report is available now at seecny.org.
"Together, we are writing the next chapter of economic opportunity across Schoharie County."
— Julie Pacatte, Executive Director, SEEC
