SEEC-Supported Parrott House Restoration Featured by WNYT

SEEC is proud to be featured by WNYT for our role in supporting the revitalization of the historic Parrott House, a landmark deeply rooted in Schoharie’s shared history.

In her coverage, WNYT’s Rachel Tiede highlights the dedication of owners Alexandra Von Zehle and Anvi Ahmetaj, whose careful restoration of the former inn is breathing new life into Main Street. Since purchasing the property in 2020, the pair has embraced not only the building itself, but the stories held within its walls. From wedding receptions to post–Hurricane Irene gatherings and childhood memories shared by longtime residents, the Parrott House remains a powerful thread in the Village’s collective memory.

SEEC has been honored to support this project from the outset through our Impact Fund, which helps local property owners reinvest in historic spaces that strengthen downtowns and spark long-term economic vitality. The Parrott House’s transformation is already generating renewed energy in the community, with neighboring businesses and residents expressing excitement as the project nears completion.

For SEEC, this moment reflects the heart of our mission: empowering local stewards, preserving community character, and helping historic places thrive again with purpose.
